The Global Peace and Witness Offering will be collected throughout October 2022
A gift to this special offering of the PC(USA) enables the church to promote the Peace of Christ by addressing systems of conflict and injustice across the world. Individual congregations are encouraged to utilize up to 25% of this Offering to connect with the global witness of Christ’s peace. Mid-councils retain an additional 25% for ministries of peace and reconciliation. The remaining 50% is used by the Presbyterian Mission Agency to advocate for peace and justice in cultures of violence, including our own, through collaborative projects of education and Christian witness.
McKinley Presbyterian Church will be donating 25% of this offering to the CU Trauma and Resiliency Initiative.
The Mission of the Trauma & Resilience Initiative
Our organization aims to create equitable, just, and loving communities in which every person is cared for, connected, supported, and well. We believe that this can be done through advocating for trauma-informed, just, and equitable policies, practices, and procedures, in addition to providing communities with the knowledge and tools they need to understand trauma and resilience so they can respond to people’s needs in a culturally responsive, strength-based, and trauma-informed way.
We hope to build on our current model so it can be replicated throughout other communities to ensure that everyone is emotionally, mentally, and physically well, supported, and connected.
