Worship on November 13

This Sunday, November 13, McKinley will observe All Saints / All Souls / Day of the Dead. Worshipers are invited to bring pictures and mementos of loved ones who have died. There will be a place in the worship service for decorating an offrenda — space of remembrance — for all present to add their symbols and pictures of loved ones who have died.

This year, the reflection will honor those from McKinley who died during the height of the COVID pandemic, March 2020 through June 2022. Many of these saints could not have a memorial service in church as we were not gathering for worship in those days. Dave Bechtel chose many of the hymns and scriptures before he died in 2021 and we can now sing them for Dave, Joe Miller, Pat Shepard, Charlie Sweitzer, Phyllis Sweitzer, Dick Ziegler, Kenneth Rinehart III, Jim Worley, Sandra Broadrick-Allen, Waynona Brown, Howard Peverly, Elizabeth Delacruz, Clarence Shelley, and Eric Jakobsson.

Blessed are the Dead, they rest from their labors and their works follow them. Revelation 14:13
