Inspired by you, the theme of this year’s annual Stewardship Campaign is “Our Mission Is Growing.” 1 Corinthians 3:6 (NRSVUE) states:
“I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth.”
The Body of Christ does not shine with singular uniform light. Each of us reflects the manifold image of God uniquely and radiantly. Together we form a community that opens our arms ever wider to the shifting world around us and together our mission is growing.
We know the way ahead will not resemble what is behind. There are growing needs in the world and increasing costs to ministry. And during this time, McKinley Presbyterian Church continues to respond faithfully, worship joyfully, and pray sincerely. From the food pantry and the student community dinners to the green team and Sunday worship, we impact our community and beyond every day.
Your steady support moves us from strength to strength. Enclosed you will find many ways to respond to what God is doing in our midst. Whether volunteering and pledging to reflecting and spreading the message, your commitment to our church helps our mission grow.
You have a luminous place.
There is no one way to respond to God, and we need the diversity of your talents to grow. As we turn our eyes toward this new year, here are some ways you can actively engage in this campaign:
- Volunteer: Explore opportunities at McKinley to serve on a committee, volunteer at our outreach initiatives such as the Garden Hills Food Pantry or provide a meal in the Share the Care initiative. Your time and skills can contribute significantly to the well-being of others.
- Spread the Light: Share the message of McKinley with friends and neighbors. Encourage them to join worship service or attend our events.
- Pledge: Take a moment to reflect on how your personal contributions helped our community. Consider making a new financial commitment to support our worship service and outreach initiatives. Please submit the pledge form by March 2, 2025 to assist in our planning efforts.
Your financial pledge is an essential way we respond to Christ and helps even the smallest seed grow, making big and meaningful change. Thank you for the exceptional gifts you each bring to McKinley Memorial Presbyterian Church.
With gratitude,
Rebecca Pagels
