In 2019 Pope Francis visited Hiroshima; he said, “In a world where millions of children and families live in inhumane conditions, the money that is squandered and the fortunes made through the manufacture, upgrading, maintenance, and sale of ever-more-destructive weapons are an affront crying out to heaven.”
This Sunday McKinley will mark the 75th anniversary of the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki—the first use of atomic weapons against people. Yohei and Asami Endo, Marlyn Rinehart, the choir, and Pastor Heidi will lead a service featuring readings, scriptures, and prayers for peace in our world.
