150 items were placed under the traditional McKinley ‘Mitten and Sock” Tree this Sunday. Children and women’s hats, gloves, mittens, and socks were delivered to Courage Connections with many “Oohs and Aahs” over Barb Weider’s wonderful homemade items. All the men’s gloves and socks were taken to the men’s shelter. One of the residents helped carry them in and was immediately given some gloves and long underwear. Please know that this small gesture from all of you each December means a lot to many of our friends in Champaign-Urbana.
